Frame Linair filler
Cost reduction by innovation
Client:
Stork Food & Dairy Systems, Amsterdam
Challenge:
The linear filler is used for filling products in a sterile manner.
A high cost structure applies for the product family linear
filler.
Result:
- Renewed design of the frame in 4 variants
- Renewed supply chain, high-quality outsourcing, reduction of
supply and assembly risks
- Production method: laser welding
- Cost reduction: 37%
- Time to market; 12 weeks (from start basic)
Our approach:
Combined, the existing functions and issues have been formulated
together with SFDS project team members. After that, Post en
Dekker concerned itself with the integral project management
task. In consultation with a supplier, research has been done with
regard to if and how the frame can be produced by means of laser
welding. Part of the frame has been designed, calculated and
produced as test wall. Parallel to this there has been procurement.
After evaluation of the test wall, the basic design has been
further developed and rolled out over 4 variants of the frame. To
conclude, the detailed design has been worked-out and delivered,
including 3D/2D CAD and SAP lists.
