Challenge:
Developing and realisation of a selective solder product family, the 6745.

Our method:
Integral design of the entire product family has been the focus of attention during the project. The full option variant consists of a flux, a heater and a solder station. A 0-10deg option makes it possible to solder the PCB underneath a corner. A 0-90deg option makes it possible to let the PCB rotate around its axis. In order to make this possible within such limited space, we have optimised a machine lay-out amd onderzocht various concepts for the handling modules. Heart of the machine is an innovative XYZ set up with a very limited overall size. In total 20 modules have been designed with which the 6745 has become a complete Assembly-to-order product family which can deal with any demand from the market. An optimal chain ensures a short turnround time.

Result:
Our policy realised a complete implementation of the product family in the business process of Vitronics Soltec. From technical construction records and realisation/testing of the proto to supplier’s selection and support with the assembly of the first series. Expected lot size: 150 per year.
