Bridging the Future: Go smart!

Smart Customization concepts for OEM

The Dutch manufacturing industry competes fiercely in specific international niche markets and specializes with ‘low volume, high diversity’. Original equipment manufacturers can only win this competition with their complete chain. A best-cost solution for the end user requires integral flexibility of order creation from the product portfolio. Therefore, not only their company but the entire chain should be designed lean.

We help original equipment manufacturers with lean designing of the integral product chain by making their order intake future proof in a smart way. We do this with Smart Customization: realizing maximal efficiency profit and risk reduction with an integral flexible product portfolio and business(chain)process. Smart Customization reduces costs and risks with fast, client specific order creation processes in a digital strategy.

Our Smart Customization team is specialized in flexible integral chain solutions and efficiency improvements in order creation. We realize 100% flexibility by making available complex product structures and product and configuration knowledge of product families for integral digital management and reuse. This concerns all departments within the OEM organisation and its supply chain for order creation: sales and (sales)engineering, production and service. This way, a strategic lever is created to two sides. Because internally, the client requirement is processed more efficiently, and externally in the chain, there is much more efficiency due to lead time reduction, quality improvement and reduction of the order risk. Without exception, we realize an (important) increase of the gross margin, with which the original equipment manufacturer can change gear strategically, for more competitive tenders or higher profits, or for strategic innovation.

With the Bridging the Future programme, Post en Dekker offers a strategic approach for the creation of integral flexible production chains. Based on more than fifteen years of success with leading original equipment manufacturers, we make product design and order creation processes lean. At the same time, we offer a turn-around in order to keep the OEM organization innovative and the work process ‘knowledge-based’.
